Bye Bye, Betsey

My current feeling is SICK and very sad:( Next week is my final dentist apt, and that means that I need to make my final payment. Because I took the liberty of living like a queen this summer, I have nothing saved. I do however, have clothing, and things of value. The beauty of buying nice things is that they always have the potential to make money back.

Today on eBay, I listed a beautiful pair of Betsey Johnson plastic aknle boots. I like Betsey, some of her stuff (most of it) is too young for me, but she still makes it work for others. I totally respect, always have and always will, what she does. I think these shoes are amazing! Contrasting material is super cool.

Though I only had the pleasure of wearing these shoes once, I have a very speical place in my heart for them. I'm really going to miss them, and I hope they find a very happy and thankfu home. They were a tad too big for me, to prevent further debt..it's just time.

Is that Cyber?

I was on flipping through W the other day while on break, I was admiring the new floral prints by Dolce & Gabbana, but get equally excited about the lipsitk the models were rockin'! See, lipsick I can afford. Anyway, I tore out the add and rushed to the MAC counter with in seconds. My MAC girl, also friend and kick ass make-up artist, Karyn Stone led me to CYBER! I wore it out the weekend prior to this, and was very plesed with the reactions. I was super happy with my purchase. I would love to drop dough on clothing and accessories; however, right now it just isn't in my cards. Cyber is so bold and color that I will rarlely wear. It was a similar sensation as wearing a new dress. Thanks Karyn! Now hopefully H & M is going to jump on the floral wagon! I'm super excited for spring!!!!!

The top pictuer is KAKA, but photo in the left hand corner is what I was going for:)

Stoves, Baby!

My stove is the WORST ever! It took almost two hours to bake a damn potato two tuesday night. WTF! So here are some sweet stoves I dream of...

Ivan Grundahl

I fell in LOVE this weekend! Ivan Grundahl, so bad ass! I was shopping at Bonnie and Clyde's, on Division (cool store) and on display in the window was the most beatuiful dress. He is out of Copenhagen, even more kick ass. so I didn't have my camera on me, and I can't find any photos on the web..but this dress was so amazing! It was like, Stevie Nicks meets the Phantom of the Opera. So RAD!! I WANT ITTTTTT!

Anyway, these were some other dresses in his collection that I totally dig...

I have always been on the fence about marriage, but this white dress is so cool that I'm thinkin about it. I would be the most fierce bride around town. I should totally start looking for a dude.

The Silver Palm & Matchbox

Last night was great! Bridget, my roomate..who we call "Tron" and our friend Sarah, who we call "Dad Socks", and myself went to The Silver Palm for dinner. I love to hang here in the winter. The dinning area is in an vintage train car! The walls are covered in Vargas picutres, it has a very rustic and nostalgic feel. The drinks are amazing, I highly reccomend the Vodka gimlet, or the Makers Manhattan. The drinks are made with love, egg whites, powderd sugar, and bitters are the seceret ingredents. The food also kicks ass, gormet american! The Rutherford salad is delish!

After the Palm we headed to the MatchBox for a quick one. The Box and Palm have the same owners, and employees. I acutally worked there for a summer as a bartender/server, it was a total blast! The MatchBox is fun cause it's the smallest bar in the city. Again, very rusitc...awesome bartenders and great music!

Also, I apologize for the spelling errors. Spelling obviously is not my forte, but my effing tool bar is not working!!!

Vintage Glam

I'm a big fan of Jayson Home & Garden! Though I hope to prove myself wrong, it might be a while until I make my first purchase. I'm in LOVE with this chair! It is out of their "Vintage Glam" collection! SOO beautiful..this is my fave. blue too..Bridget (my roomate) and I painted the panneling in our kitchen this color. LOVE!

Eskell

Eskell, in my opinion, is one of the best boutiques in the city! The store is divided by the house brand, Eskell (very innovative), a mix of great independant lables in Chicago and accross the country. Beautiful clothing and adorable accessoreis! Great buying job! They also have a great variety of vintage boots, dresses, and bags.

Cordelia and Erica Weiner

I recently discovered this clothing line, Cordelia! I'm a big fan :)
My girlfriend Laura just gave me a belated christmas gift, two adorable belt bracelets by designer Erica Weiner. I have seen some of her stuff on display in Chicago, but totally dug her website. These shoe clips are awesome!! Such a great way to dress up a pair of vintage peep-toes.

Partfall of Civilization

Chicago winter is currently at it's bullshit peak. If I had a dollar for everytime I someone has said "this weather freaking blows", I could pay for my bad teeth in full. Anyway, one of my girl friends called me up the other day and asked if I wanted to see a show at Second City. Second City can be totally hit or miss. Usually when I see a show there I'm about two joints deep, so I tend to laugh a lot.

My friend Lindasy Aberegg styled the set, so she got us free tickets!! Even better:) The name of the show is: Partfall of Civiliztion. 20 min. into the show I was laughing my ass off! It was a riot...The whole cast was great, really, even the under-study. I have to comment on two members that I thought to be the most impressive...Alex Fendric, it was also his last night..and Amanda Blake. She had a wide array of characters, she totally rocked the house!

So on a depressing ass winter night, Second City was totally what the Doctor ordered. Thanks Linds:)
